The qualified Final result must be published within the last date of online form submission i.e. 20.09.2026 and copy of final mark sheets should be with the candidate at the time of counselling.
Guidelines and Instructions for Applying Online for Provisional Admission to B.Ed. 2026-2028
- 1. Read instructions in the information sheet carefully.
- 2. When link is available in the college website:(http://www.gceburdwan.in) fill up the Online Application Form.
- 3. Before submitting the application form, candidates must ensure that they have correctly entered their detailed personal information and the marks in the relevant columns of the form.
- 4. The qualified final result must be published within the last date of online form submission i.e. 20.09.2026 and copy of final mark sheets should be with the candidate at the time of counselling.
- 5. Duly filled in application form should be submitted online.
- 6. Print the filled in Application form, sign and preserve it.
- 7. Scan the printed and signed application form and also scan both sides of the documents mentioned below. Create a single pdf (Not exceeding 10 mb) and send it to gceburdwanadmin@gmail.com . Mention your name and application ID in the subject of your mail. Failing to send the scanned documents to the above E Mail, your candidature will be cancelled.

*SC/ST/OBC/ PWD Certificate. (If any) - 8. Candidates will have to submit the printed copy of filled in application form at the time of counselling and admission.
Eligibility Criteria :
- 1. No candidate is allowed to submit more than one application form. Submission of more than one application form may lead to cancellation of the candidature.
- 2. Admission will be denied / cancelled if the documents are found not in conformity with the information in the form submitted online. If any anomaly and /or suppression of facts is detected at the time of admission or at a later stage for the admitted candidate (even after payment of fees or at any stage during the course) with respect to method subject chosen, qualification details, marks obtained, mistake in calculation of grade point, reservation related, disability claimed related etc. the candidature shall stand cancelled and College authority shall not be held responsible under any circumstance.
- 3. Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree and/or in the Master's Degree in sciences/social sciences/humanities are eligible for admission to the programme.
- 4. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST & PWD categories.
- 5. The reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD shall be as per rules. PWD having less than 40% disability will be treated as Unreserved candidate
- 6. Caste certificates issued by the authorities outside West Bengal are not accepted for reservation benefits. They shall be treated as Unreserved.
- 7. Availability of Method Subjects: Bengali, English, Hindi, Geography, History, Economics, Education, Physical Science (Chemistry /Physics) and Mathematics.
- 8. Candidates (both Fresher & Deputed), who did not study the desired method subject, as mentioned in (point7), at the degree level will not be considered for admission even if their names are found in the list.
- 9. Regular teachers who teach classes VI-XII in the Govt. and Govt. Aided Institutions only, shall be considered as Deputed Candidates.
- 10. Untrained Deputed Candidates shall have to take that subject as the method subject (available in the institution) in which they are the approved regular teachers.
Selection Procedure :
- 1. For Untrained Deputed Candidates, irrespective of categories (UR, SC, ST, OBC & PWD), provisional merit list shall be prepared on the basis of their approved length of service. In case of same length of service of two or more candidates, the 2nd and 3rd criteria shall be Academic Score and Date of Birth respectively.
- 2. For untrained deputed candidates only: As per Govt. Order No.1003-HED-7014(99)/60/2022-CS-SEC-Dep of HE dated 31.08. 2026, 5% seats will be reserved for untrained deputed teachers of classes VI-XII. First priority in admission will be given to the untrained deputed candidates from Govt. Schools. If the seats, reserved for deputed teachers, remain vacant, that will be de-reserved and offered to the unreserved fresh candidates.
- 3. For Fresh Candidates of all categories (Unreserved, SC, ST, OBC & PWD), subject wise provisional merit list shall be prepared on the basis of their Grade Points to be computed as per the following norms.
(i) 20% of the percentage of marks obtained at the M.P. (S.E.) or Equivalent Examination.
(ii) For students of ICSE the percentage of marks for class 10 will be calculated out of total marks 500 (English & other best 4 subjects.)
(iii) 20% of the percentage of marks obtained at the (H.S.) (10 +2) or Equivalent Examination.
(iv) For students of ISC the percentage of marks for class 12 will be calculated out of total marks 400 (English & other best 3 subjects.)
(v) 20% of the percentage of marks obtained at the B.A./B.Sc. (Gen) Examinations.
(vi) 30% of the percentage of marks obtained at the B.A./B.Sc. (Hons.) or Equivalent Examinations.
(vii) 30% of the percentage of marks obtained at Post Graduate Examinations.
(viii) The CGPA score should be converted to percentage of marks according to respective University norms.
(ix) Adhoc 5 marks shall be awarded for M. Phil Degree or, ad hoc 8 marks shall be awarded for Ph.D. (Candidates with M. Phil & Ph.D. degree both, only 8 marks shall be awarded.) - 4. In case of unavailability of candidates in a particular category (e.g. SC) in any method subject, suitable candidates of the same category (e.g. SC) from any other subject belonging to the same group (e.g. Language, Social Sc. or Science) may be admitted
- 5. Candidates (both Fresher& Deputed), who are seeking reservation against SC/ST/OBC category, must enclose self-attested photocopy of the Certificate obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim.
- 6. Deputed candidates must enclose the Copy(ies) of Approval letter for the post(s) held at present and earlier along with the resolution of the Managing Committee of the School concerned (present employer).
- 7. The deputed candidates must have to submit 'No Objection Certificate" in original at the time of admission, taken from their employer permitting them to pursue the course of studies on fulltime basis.
- 8. For PWD Candidates only: PWD having less than 40% disability will be treated as Unreserved candidate. Selection of PWD candidates will be based on merit. Candidates who are seeking reservation against PWD category, must enclose self-attested photocopy of the Certificate obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim. If any discrepancy is found at any stage the candidature will be cancelled.
- 9. No application fee is required, as per Govt. Order No.1003-HED-7014(99)/60/2022-CS-SEC-Dep of HE dated 31.08. 2026.
- 10. Provisional Merit List will be published on the college website. Candidate who will fail to appear in the 1st phase of counselling will not be considered for further counselling, whatever may be their position in the merit list. Selected Candidates are required to take admission on the very day of counselling.

- 12. Admission fees of Rs. 20000/- (Twenty Thousand only) should be deposited in the designated bank accounts on the day of admission only after all the documents are verified satisfactorily. The details of Bank Accounts will be provided at the time of admission.
- 13. Migration Certificate must be submitted after admission.
- 14. Govt. College of Education, Burdwan is recognized by NCTE It is affiliated to BSAEU (erstwhile WBUTTEPA). The minimum attendance of student teachers shall be as per NCTE regulation and BSAEU regulation.
- 15. Anti-Ragging Undertaking must be filled by the students online on https://antiragging.in/affidavit_registration_disclaimer.html. College will not accept Anti Ragging Undertaking by students in Hard/Printed copy/Affidavits. (Please note that the student is not required to print & sign it).

FOR FRESHER CANDIDATES
❖ Aadhaar Card in original
❖ One print out of the filled-in Application Form duly signed by the candidate.
❖All certificates and mark sheets, age proof (Admit card of Madhyamik), certificates of SC/ST/OBC & PWD (availed from competent authority as per WB Govt. Rules) if any, in original
❖ self-attested photocopies of all the documents as referred above.
❖Candidates with CGPA method of the mark sheet must ensure document showing CGPA to percentage conversion formula of the respective University
❖One passport size colour photograph.
❖ Applicants have to submit Character Certificate issued from the Institution last attended which will certify on the inter-personal behavioural pattern of the applicant.
FOR DEPUTED CANDIDATES
❖ Aadhaar Card in original
❖ One print out of the filled-in Application Form duly signed by the candidate.
❖ All certificates and mark sheets, age proof (Admit card of Madhyamik), certificates of SC/ST/OBC & PWD (availed from competent authority as per WB Govt. Rules) if any, in original
❖ self-attested photocopies of the same.
❖One passport size colour photograph.
❖ Original M.C. resolution duly countersigned by the D.1./ADI.
❖ Original & photocopies of Service appointment letter, Joining Report & Approval by D.I.
❖ Govt. Order (for Govt. Deputed Candidates) & 'NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE' in original issued by competent authority, permitting the candidates to pursue the B.Ed. course on full- time basis as required by the Govt. of W.B. / affiliating University.
❖ Release order in original from the competent authority starting from 03.11.2026 for the entire session, to be submitted at the time of joining.
